Alikay Naturals Wash & Go

I’ve been hearing about Alikay Naturals for a while now and have been waiting patiently to try their products and my wait was not in vain because the products can be found in all Fontana locations! When you’ve only heard great things about hair products, can you help but to try them?!

I started off with the very basics for my everyday go-to style, which if you know me, you know that’s a wash and go. There’s just something about having my hair out, flying in the wind and occasionally slapping me in the face that I love! When I find products that define my curls without drying my hair out; just making my hair happy, I like to share them with the world! So, here’s my experience with Alikay Naturals 🙂

The first product I tried from the line was the Alikay Naturals Sulfate Free Caribbean Coconut Milk Shampoo for Kinky, Curly, Wavy and Straight hair. First thing, the packaging is nice and I love the fact that the shampoo has an applicator tip, especially because the consistency of the shampoo is almost close to water. This product contains amazing ingredients including nettle which provides strong, healthy hair. After applying the product and working it into my hair I could see the dirt and build up washing away while I rinsed the shampoo from my hair. The shampoo cleansed my hair and scalp without being harsh and I was able to apply the product directly to my scalp which really helped with the distribution of the product.

Next in my routine was the Alikay Naturals Caribbean Coconut Milk Conditioner for kinky, curly, wavy and straight hair. I was a bit amazed by the consistency of it because this conditioner is very thick and creamy and the best part, it smells amazing! The coconut oil in the conditioner stimulates hair growth and locks in moisture, leaving the hair soft and shiny, the Rosemary oil promotes thickness and boosts shine while soothing an itchy scalp and the coconut milk slows hair loss and prevents breakage and split ends. I like to separate my hair into sections before attempting to detangle and let me tell you, this conditioner does a ridiculously amazing job at detangling. Using this conditioner it took me less than 5 minutes to detangle my entire head! That never happens when I use regular conditioner! I left the conditioner on my hair for a while since I didn’t get a deep conditioner and then wrapped my hair in a cotton t-shirt for 15 minutes.

My hair was was soooo soft, it felt amazing!

I separated my hair into four sections and applied the Lemongrass Leave In Conditioner which, might I add, smells great, and doesn’t smell like lemongrass but more like lemons :)️.

I worked the product into each section then moisturised with the moisture rich hair parfait. It turned out that I didn’t have enough time, so I ended up doing doing a braid.

Because I didn’t get to do a wash and go the first time around, I had to give these products another go.

I started from scratch and again, the products are just amazing! A little birdie told me that the Crème Brûlée Curling Delight works best when the hair is soaking wet and believe me, it does!

So after washing my hair with the shampoo and conditioner previously mentioned, I separate my hair into four sections. I start working on a section in the back, because that’s what I’m most comfortable with, and then get the section soaking wet. My hair is very thick, so I sometimes separate that section into another section.

I apply the lemongrass leave-in to my soaking wet hair and work it in a little, then I take a generous amount of the Crème brûlée and apply it to the section by first raking it through my hair, then I squeeze the hair between my palms from roots to ends. By this time, my hair is already looking amazing.

I continue this process throughout my head until all my hair is coated in the product. I hold my head over allowing all my hair to fall towards the ground and then put a t-shirt over my hair, wrap my hair in the t-shirt and allow it to soak up some of the water. I leave the t-shirt on my hair for about 30 minutes, or however long it takes me to get ready for the day.

I allow my hair to air dry which usually takes… the whole day! At the end of the day I put a scarf around my hair to keep it together while I sleep and in the morning I shake my hair out, spray it with a little water and then with the lemongrass leave-in and I’m ready to take on the day!
