Am I the only person who gets really excited when new hair products come out?
The other day I was casually strolling through Fonatana Pharmacy and saw this very nice display for the new Garnier Whole Blends line and I was instantly intrigued. I personally love Garnier because their products always feel amazing on my hair and they smell great!
There are 5 different formulations in this line: Repairing Honey Treasures with Royal Jelly Honey and Propolis extracts, Smoothing Coconut Oil & Cocoa Butter extracts, Nourishing Avocado Oil and Shea butter, Color Care Argan Oil & Cranberry extracts, Refreshing Green Apple & Green Tea extracts and Hydrating Coconut Water & Vanilla Milk extracts.
I couldn’t decide whether or not to choose the smoothing or the hydrating, but I tried the Coconut Oil & Cocoa Butter and though this will not be the line I use for my regular wash and go, this line is perfect for doing different styles!
These products work well for both natural, relaxed and colour treated hair. The smoothing line works well for doing natural styles such as twist outs, braid outs and Bantu knot outs (chiney bump and pull out as we Jamaicans call it), which is the style I did.

Generally, I don’t apply shampoo directly on my hair because most shampoos tend to dry my hair out. I try to work the shampoo into my scalp to make sure I get rid of all the residue and build up from my previous week of styling. While shampooing with the Garnier Whole Blends Smoothing Coconut Oil and Cocoa Butter shampoo, I noticed my hair wasn’t feeling very dry so I ended up dragging the shampoo down my hair to get rid of the dirt and to my surprise, this shampoo washed the dirt away but didn’t dry my hair out!
This conditioner was actually quite moisturizing and worked well for detangling. I applied the conditioner all over my hair and then to the four sections I usually separate my hair into. After washing the conditioner out my hair was smooth and very soft, which made me actually contemplate flat ironing (no, I didn’t do it).
I moved on to the leave in conditioner and I loved it! This product brought a lot of moisture to my hair! I allowed my hair to air dry a little before applying this product (which resulted in my hair being a little dry) while I tried to decide what style I would do and this product rehydrated my hair without it feeling wet.
This was the last product I used from the line and I used it while taking down my style to ensure my hair did not become a huge frizz ball.I add a little of the oil to my hair before bed to keep it moisturised and then a little of the leave-in conditioner and a little oil in the mornings to moisturize and add some shine.
I definitely recommend that you use all the products in this line together as this will give you better results.
For you natural haired girls, check out the Coconut Water and Vanilla Milk line. If you have colored hair, give the Color Care Argan Oil & Cranberry a try. Heat damage, split ends, breakage calls for the Repairing Honey Treasures with Royal Jelly Honey and Propolis. The Nourishing Avocado Oil and Shea butter for to keep your wonderful hair nourished and Refreshing Green Apple & Green Tea for normal hair. Yes, there is something for everyone!
