Powders set liquids and creams, prevent creasing!
Hello Beauty Vibers!
After applying liquids and creams, it is often recommended that you set with a powder to reduce or prevent the product from moving or transferring. In order to keep your foundation lasting all day and minimise oil production, set it with a powder. Now, powders won’t entirely stop you from getting oily, but they definitely help. These are some of my absolute favourite setting powders:
Mary Kay Translucent Loose Powder- This is probably the most slept on setting powder. I absolutely love this product! Now, this may give my darker girls a little flash back if you use it to bake, but trust me when I say this is a great powder for setting foundation. Just knock a little of the powder into the cap and swirl a fluffy powder brush around, knock of the excess and apply the powder to your face by lightly pressing it in.
Black Opal Deluxe Finishing Powder
This is another product that again, is slept on. This powder gives a very beautiful finish and leaves you looking flawless; perfect for dark skin tones. This powder can be used to bake your under eyes without leaving you looking ashy or leaving a cast. I have this powder in neutral light, which is the lightest shade. I use it to set my entire face and it gives a beautiful finish.
Sacha Buttercup Setting Powder
I don’t think I have to say much about this. This is a yellow setting powder that looks amazing on dark skin, unfortunately, it may be a little too yellow for some people, but for the majority, this powder works beautifully. It leaves my complexion looking silky smooth as they claim it will. I’ve seen where darker ladies use this powder to “bake” and they obtain great results and a long lasting makeup application!
Sacha Cosmetics also has a translucent powder which you can give a try.
Milani Setting Powders– These are the only pressed powders on my list and I can say they are pretty amazing. These powders are somewhat buildable to give more coverage, but if you apply too much, it will appear cakey. Use a fluffy powder brush and lightly apply the powder to the skin to get the best results.
